7.         TREK TO VALLEY OF FLOWERS (JUL & AUG)

Valley of Flowers – name itself fascinate the young traveler. It was discovered in the year 1931, when Frank S. Smythe a British mountaineer along with six other British mountaineers climbed Kamet. After climb they descended towards Bhuandar pass. The monsoon had already broken and the day they were crossing the Bhundar pass, suddenly Smythe told his friends “Look!”  They followed the direction of his outstretched hand.   At first they could see nothing but rocks, then suddenly his wandering gaze was arrested by a little splash of blue, and beyond it were other splashes of blue, a blue so intense it seemed to light the hillside.  Even now you can see such bluish shade of Valley of flowers.

Hemkund (Snow Lake) Sahib, as the name itself suggests, is a high-altitude lake (4329 m) surrounded by seven huge now-covered mountains, which are collectively called Hemkund Parvat. Close to the lake is sacred Gurudwara. It is said that Shri Guru Govind Singh Ji (the Tenth Guru of the Sikhs) meditated on the very banks of this lake. The lake is about two kilometres in circumference.

For a Biker, visiting Himalayas is one thing and riding on a motorcycle across the lofty mountains is totally another - the supreme challenge to any true bike enthusiast.

The road from Manali is open from the month of June to mid- October. For almost half of its length, it is over 13,000 feet. The route passes through five high altitude passes. The terrain is so high and so barren as to have no settled habitation. Infrastructural support is at a bare minimum. No repair or service stations after Keylong, no petrol pumps either. But this scenario on the Manali-Leh Highway gives the excitement of planning, adventure and bliss while riding and provides lifetime memories after the ride.

You will also have an opportunity to see, Sand-dunes, Double humped camels and one of the longest lake with crystal clear water (Pangong Lake) apart from crossing the world’s highest mortorable road in the world.

9.         TREK TO SATOPANTH :  (10 Sep – 18 Sep 2013)
Satopanth Tal Lake Trek in Uttarakhand is an isolated trek in Garhwal Himalayas nestled on the base of legendary Nilkantha peak and several other prominent peaks in proximity. The Swargarohini Peak Base Camp, views of Balakun Peak and Narayan Parbat peak are also part of this trek route. Mana peak is also visible from this location. Ideally speaking, this is a trek where you are surrounded by legendary Himalayan peaks.

Satopanth lake trek is an arduous one mainly because of the steep and often back-breaking climb that one needs to encounter. This trek is for those who are willing to test physical limits and handle the notorious Himalayan weather. Despite this the trek to Satopanth Lake is full of pristine landscape, with a heavy dosage of ever changing Himalayan weather. Camping at the Vasudhara Fall and glimpse of dramatic Nilkantha peak are experiences not to captivate in camera but to enclose in mind and spirit.
